Episode 41: Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God

In July 1741, American pastor, Jonathan Edwards, famously preached a sermon titled “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” He preached it first at his own church in Northampton, Massachusetts and then later, by request, to a church in Enfield, Connecticut, which had been largely unaffected by the Great Awakening. Edwards preached with the aim of warning his hearers about the dangers of sin and the horrors of hell and to call them to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. God graciously used the sermon to bring many sinners to faith.

In this episode of Table Talk, Tyrell is joined by Peter Sammons, pastor-teacher of Germiston Baptist Church to discuss the content and the legacy of this famed sermon.
